Mary Ann Pyle, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
She was born June 24, 1928, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Archie D. and Elmyra Conner. Mary Ann married Charles R. Pyle on May 29, 1946 in Carrollton, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2000. Her parents, one sister, Ora Lee Burris and three brothers, Jesse Conner, William Conner and James Conner also preceded her in death.
At the age of 40 Mary Ann began nursing school and graduated in 1971 as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the admiration and support of her husband and children. She then worked at Major Hospital and the Heritage Manor Nursing Home for many years.
After Charlie and Mary Ann’s retirement they spent many years during the winter months in Bradenton and Palmetto Florida where they enjoyed the warm Florida weather and the many, many friends they made there.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory L. (wife, Sherell) Pyle of Indianapolis and Michael R. (wife, Marsha) Pyle of Shelbyville; one daughter, Saundra Whitt of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren, Carey Smith and Andy (wife, Hillary) Pyle, both of Indianapolis, Mandy (husband, Sean) Gomez of Cincinnati, Ohio, Christopher R. (fiancé, Rachel Bushong) Pyle of Greenfield and Lindsey (husband, Michael) Wisenbaker of Dallas, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Mary Ann attended Shelbyville Community Church and various other churches in Florida.
A gathering of friends will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Hope’s Point Church, 1703 Miller Avenue, in Shelbyville.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the church, with Rev. Ed Mohr officiating.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
