Mary D. Lamb, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville. She was born October 8, 1939, in Shelby County, the daughter of Lloyd Goodwin and Blanche “Marie” (Murphy) Goodwin Girouard. On December 15, 1973, she married Charles Duane “Chuck” Lamb, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1990. Mary is survived by her sons, Michael Wiseman and John Morgan, both of Shelbyville, and Dan Morgan of Franklin; brother, Eugene Goodwin and wife, Lena Bell, of Shelbyville; and grandsons, Michael Wiseman Jr. and Cameron Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Mary graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1957. She was a veteran of the Army National Guard, 38th Aviation Battalion, last serving in August of 1977. Mary retired from the finance center at Fort Benjamin Harrison on September 29, 1994, where she was a data analyst. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 70 and Business and Professional Women. Mary served as a den mother for Cub and Boy Scouts, she helped with 4-H and was always very involved in her son’s activities. She also leaves behind her grandpuppy, Opry. A gathering of friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville, with military rites conducted by the local military committee. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy’s Club of Shelbyville, 710 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
