Mary Evelyn Graham, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.
She was born May 29, 1920, in Shelby County, the daughter of William “Peter” and Lydia (Messmore) Schonfeld. She married Guy Graham on August 20, 1938, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1968.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Margaret Carole Schaekel and husband, Floyd, of Hagerstown, and Joyce Green and husband, David, of Shelbyville; son, Donnie J. Graham and wife, Donna, of Wintersville, Ohio; sisters, Goldie Montgomery of Shelbyville and Opal Morgan of Freemont, California; nine grandchildren many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Schonfeld and Paul Schonfeld; sisters, Edna Ritchey and Nina Claytor.
Mary attended First Christian Church in Shelbyville.
She formerly worked at the Monte Glove Company from 1941 to 1947, Admiral Corporation from 1947 to 1969 and Cambridge Inn from 1970 until retiring in 1992.
Mary was a member of Shelby County Senior Services, Shelbyville Order of Eastern Star Lodge No. 136 and the Eagles Lodge.
She enjoyed playing euchre with her friends, playing bingo and traveling with Senior Services.
Mary also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 am, Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
