Mary Frances Spurling, 90, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Morristown passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at her residence.
Born July 22, 1919 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Fred and Bessie (Berg) Sholty. She married Cecil Spurling, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2009.
Survivors include her son, Roger Griffin of Greenfield; daughters, Sara Ryse of Lakeland, Florida, Sue Rowell of Mobile, Alabama and Melissa Hach of Cumming, Georgia; step-son, Jerry Spurling of Fountaintown, Stephen Spurling of South Carolina and James Spurling of Indiana; step-daughter, Carol Deom of Greencastle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-sons, Jerry Spurling, Gary Spurling and Gene Spurling; brothers, George Sholty, John Sholty and Mark Sholty; and sister, Barbara Black.
Mrs. Spurling owned and operated rental properties in Morristown, Shelbyville and Rushville.
She moved to Lakeland in 1985 from Morristown.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Interment will be in Star Church Cemetery.
