Mary L. Martin, 62, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born March 31, 1957 in Shelbyville. On September 8, 1984, she married her husband of 35 years, Bruce Wayne Martin, and he survives.
In addition to Bruce, Mary is survived by her daughters, Cisma (Bogemann) Ferguson and husband, David, of Fishers, Kylie (Martin) Beaty and husband, Zane, and Kari (Martin) Daffron and husband, Alex, both of Indianapolis. She was the devoted grandmother of Landon Ferguson, Oliver Ledden and Christian Ferguson. Mary is also survived by her father-in-law, Jerry Martin and wife, Fredonna, of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Jean Martin and husband, Greg Olin, of Indianapolis; numerous nieces and nephews including Brooke Steckert and Megan Cranford; dearest friends, Jacque Nasby and Jackie West; sisters, Linda, Shirley, Diana and Teresa; and brothers, Bob, Mike, Tim, Tony and David.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving mother, Elizabeth (Marksbury) Carroll; lifelong friend, Debbie Caine; sister-in-law, Connie Carroll; and nephew, Craig Carroll.
Mary was a true artist. She demonstrated her talents in gardening, drawing and floral design. Her love and adoration for her family reflected through her creative activities. Mary was committed to making every holiday an unforgettable occasion.
She was also a homemaker, taking great comfort in knowing she provided a warm home, filled with laughter and lasting memories. The time spent with family was most precious to her.
Mary also enjoyed being at the beach and listening to and attending Tom Petty concerts.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the funeral home, with Judge Trent Meltzer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to her grandsons’, Landon and Oliver, college 529 plans.
