Mary Louise Eads, 89, of Selma, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at Elmcroft Senior Living in Muncie.
She was born March 12, 1925, in Shelby County, the daughter of Everett and Susie (Conway) Perkins. On March 18, 1944, she married her husband of 50 years, Carl Eads, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Phillips and husband, Ed, of Selma; daughter-in-love, Judy Eads of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Robin Coulston, Lora Wilson, Carl Jones, Elasha Lennartz, Richard Phillips, Shaina Whitfield and Samantha Harris; and many great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Maurice “Butch” Eads; daughter, Ethel “Sue” Reese; brother, Samuel Perkins; and sister, Doris Moore.
Mary graduated from Sand Creek High School in Letts in 1943.
She was a lifetime member of Shelbyville Order of the Eastern Star Naamah Chapter No. 73.
Mary formerly worked at Jester’s Department Store.
She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Stuart Phillips officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
