Mary Mabel Clay, 84, of Morristown went to be with her husband on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Cypress Run surrounded by her family.
She was born August 16, 1928 in Rock Creek, West Virginia to Dewey and Gracie P. (Miller) Cantley. She married Woodrow S. Clay on October 7, 1945, and he preceded her in death on May 12, 1992.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosanne Clay (husband, Robert) Hines of Plainfield; sons, Tim (wife, Freda) Clay of Indianapolis, Sheldon (wife, Lucy) Clay of Greenfield and David (wife, Cindy) Clay of New Palestine; sisters, Icie Erwin of Carmel and Ethel (husband, Dempsey) McKnight of Rock Creek; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Clay was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Morristown United Methodist Church for over 50 years and Morristown American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Clay enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
