Mary K. (Breedlove) Wickizer

Mary K. (Breedlove) Wickizer, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away on February 23, 2025, at Homeview Health and Rehab in Franklin.

She was born March 23, 1930, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Raymond and Jane (VanPelt) Breedlove. On June 22, 1952, she married Hugh Wickizer, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2009.

Mary is survived by her sons, Karl Wickizer and wife, Anne, Gregory S. Wickizer and wife, Mona, H. Eric Wickizer and wife, Kim, Kirk Wickizer and wife, Sheryll, and J. Bradley Wickizer and wife, Amy; sister, Jane Lauerman; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Hugh, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George Breedlove; sister, Diane Breedlove; grandson, Keith Wickizer; and great-grandson, Keaton Piper.

Mary graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a degree in education, in 1952.

She was the co-owner and operator of Tippecanoe Press.

Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, History Club-Merrill Circle, the Unique Club, and Tri Kappa.

There will be a Celebration of Mary’s Life at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
