Maurice Dale Kuhn

July 21, 1925 — February 27, 2010

Maurice Dale Kuhn, 84, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Heritage House Convalescent Center. Born July 21, 1925, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Elmer and Selma (Straub) Kuhn. Survivors include his sister, Pat (husband, Ray) Banister of Overland Park, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews, including Tim Kuhn and Mark Kuhn, both of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Kuhn, Donald Kuhn, and Edward Kuhn; and sister, Margaret Kuhn. Mr. Kuhn was a lifelong resident of Shelby County. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in World War II, being discharged in 1946. Mr. Kuhn was a laborer at Overhead Door. He was a member of the American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars. Mr. Kuhn attended Shelbyville High School. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Mohr officiating. Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion or VFW.
