Max G. Tillison

Max Gregory Tillison, 49, of Fairland, died Thursday, June 15, 2006. Born April 17, 1957, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Max Wilkins and Betty Lou (Spear) Tillison. Survivors include his stepfather, A. Dale Stucker of Fairland; three sons, Max G. Tillison Jr., Cody W. Tillison and Zachary A. Tillison, all of Shelbyville; one daughter, Ashley E. (husband, Ty) Brown of Shelbyville; one sister, Dee (husband, Tim) Johnson of Fairland; one brother, Douglas A. Tillison of Mount Dora, Fla.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Christian F. Tillison. Mr. Tillison was employed from 1995 to 2005 at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., in the maintenance department. He previously was employed at Knauf. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Tillison was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Fairland Baptist Church. A gathering of friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vernard McClanahan officiating. Interment will be in Acton Cemetery, with military rites conducted.
