Max Romack, 89, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born December 21, 1923, in Hancock County, the son of Nolan and Gertrude (Elsbury) Romack. On October 15, 1947, he married his wife of 54 years, Rosella Tillison, and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2001.
Survivors include his daughters, Kathy (Danny Thurston) Hoffman of Arlington and Anita Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother-in-law, Bob Slifer of Morristown; sister-in-law, Audrey Jean Romack of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Romack; and a sister, Frances Foster.
Max graduated from Westland High School in Hancock County in 1941.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving during World War II.
Max formerly owned and operated Farm and Home Service and Supply, as an electrician and plumber.
He attended Shiloh Christian Church and Gwynneville Methodist Church.
Max was a lifetime member of the Morristown American Legion.
He loved to garden.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the funeral home, with Pastor Fred Hickman officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
