Maxine Faye Murnan, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Major Hospital.
Born February 2, 1924, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Almedia H. (Huffman) Marshall. She married George W. Murnan on November 25, 1942, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2007.
Survivors include her daughter, Patsy (husband, Michael) Weintraut of Shelbyville; son, Mike Murnan of Shelbyville; sister, Mary Jane Fields of Lodi, California; granddaughter, Melissa (husband, Mark) Acher of Lafayette; and grandson, Michael John (wife, Celeste) Murnan of Carmel.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Eugene Murnan; brothers, George Franklin Marshall and Lester Dale Marshall; and a sister, Roberta G. Plymate.
Mrs. Murnan was a member of Fairland United Methodist Church since 1932, and she served as the Sunday school secretary.
She attended Fairland High School.
Mrs. Murnan was a former cook at Fairland Elementary and High Schools.
She loved to make noodles and pies.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Fairland United Methodist Church, 205 W. Washington St. in Fairland.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the church, with Pastor Susan Davis officiating.
Interment will be in London Cemetery.
