Maybelle Mohr, 92, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Born May 13, 1917, in Westport, she was the daughter of David J. and Lilly Belle (Elliott) Talkington. She married Delbert J. Mohr in 1933.
Survivors include her children, Ronald J. (wife, Jerri) Mohr of Ocoee, Florida, Jeleyne Cox, Joe Ed (wife, Patricia) Mohr, Linda E. Scott and Gordon A. (wife, Joyce) Mohr, all of Shelbyville, Paul E. (wife, Rita) Mohr of Waldron and Sara (husband, Jim) McCain of Franklin; 26 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis William Mohr; daughter, Madonna M. McDonald; brothers, Oral Talkington, Virgil Talkington and Ursal Talkington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ms. Mohr had lived in Shelbyville most of her life.
She had been a nurse's aid at Major Hospital for 13 years, a first aid nurse for P.P.G. for seven years and a private duty nurse for 20 years.
Ms. Mohr was a member of Bible Holiness Church.
She loved crossword puzzles and playing the piano, but mainly loved her family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Joseph Smith officiating.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
