Meredith J. "Mert" Woodall Berry, 57, of Shelbyville went home to be with God and family on Sunday, March 21, 2010.
Born January 30, 1953 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Clifford and Bessie French-Wells and Herschel Yarber. She was married to Danny McKenney from 1970-1971. She married Carl Woodall on December 28, 1974, and he preceded her in death in 2001. On October 27, 2007 she married Calvin Berry and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Sam (husband, Joe) Douglas of Shelbyville; and her grandson Ryan Douglas of Shelbyville; stepchildren, Kimberly (husband, Mike) Marshall, Rodney (wife, Kimberly) Berry and Karen Berry; ten stepgrandchildren and one great-stepgranddaughter; brother; Larry (wife, Janet) Krise and sisters, Nyla "Sue" Johnson, Katie Kimbler and Sheila (husband, Mike) McKenney and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was employed by KT Corporation and as a jailer at the Shelby County jail.
She loved living on her farm and all the work entailed as well as all of her animals. She enjoyed her family, neighbors and friends, flowers, gardening, classical music and art.
A gathering of friends and family will be at the First Church of God, 1815 S. Miller St., Shelbyville from 2 to 4 p.m., with a Memorial Service in the church sanctuary at 4:30 p.m.
