Michael Anthony "Tony" Vandiver

Michael Anthony "Tony" Vandiver, 38, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at his home. Born Sept. 24, 1970, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Robert L. and Nicole F. (Gioun) Vandiver. Survivors include his fiancee, Christina E. Burdine of Shelbyville, daughter, Talisa Vandiver, son, Tyler Vandiver, brothers, Bob (wife, Mary) Vandiver of Shelbyville and Sam (wife, Annette) Vandiver of Indianapolis; sisters Joann (husband, Gary) Williams and Sandy Adams (companion, Randy Williams) both of Indianapolis; aunt, Christine Davis of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Vandiver had been employed at Car Crazy Sales in Indianapolis. He formerly worked for Guaranteed Roofing at Eli Lilly Co. and Lester's Body Shop. He was a member of Westside Wesleyan Church and Roofers Union Local No. 119 in Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Allen officiating. Burial will be in London cemetery in Shelby County. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tony Vandiver Memorial Fund, in care of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
