Michael E. Heck, 67, of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
He was born November 23, 1946, in Indianapolis, the son of William A. and Edna May (Johnson) Heck. On August 6, 1967, he married his wife of 46 years, Cynthia K. Sanders, and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Amie Strohl and husband, James of Fairland; sons, Ryan Heck and wife, Lara of Danville, Kentucky and Drew Heck and wife, Drema of South Williamson, Kentucky; granddaughter, Braxtyn; and grandson, Gavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Lisa Gail Heck; brother, Richard Heck; and sister, Pattie Brittain.
Mike graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1965.
He was an active member of Fountaintown Christian Church. Through his life he has faithfully served the Lord as deacon, youth leader and Sunday school teacher.
Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1965 to 1971.
He retired from Indiana Bell/Ameritech in 1996, after 28 years of service. He had owned Greenfield Granite and Memorials since 2002.
Mike enjoyed bowling, playing softball and going to the lake.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2014 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Fountaintown Christian Church, U.S. Highway 52 in Fountaintown.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the church, with Pastors Joshua Huhn and Fred Girdwood officiating.
Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Services entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
