Michael Henry “Mike” Jonas, 55, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at his residence.
He was born July 2, 1961, in West Lafayette, the son of Loren Henry and Karen Marlene (Six) Jonas. He married Jenny (Trinidad) Jonas on February 21, 2015, and she survives.
Mike is also survived by his mother of Fountaintown; wife, Jenny Jonas of Shelbyville; children, Ashley Flores and husband, Mario, of Beavercreek, Ohio, Charles Jonas and fiancee’, Melissa Clark, of Richwood, Ohio, Lesley Jonas of Gwynneville, Rochelle Trinidad, Rachelle Trinidad, Sean Asher and Loraine Jonas, all of Shelbyville; brothers, Mark Jonas of Shelbyville and Mitchell Jonas and wife, Christina, of Fountaintown; sister, Sheryl Vannoy and husband, Tracy, of Fountaintown; grandchildren, Fawn Jonas, Brianna Flores, Makayla Reidy, Ayden Jonas, Mia Jonas and Michael Jonas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bayani and Ester Trinidad, of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Mike was a lifelong Shelby County resident and graduated from Triton Central High School in 1979.
He was a self-employed contractor, Mike enjoyed interior finishing work paying a great amount of attention to detail, as he was a perfectionist. He had also worked at Pilkington for four years.
Mike enjoyed life and the time he spent traveling and boating.
He grew up on the family farm.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the funeral home, with Jim Coyle officiating.
Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
