Michael Lee "Mike" Hogan

Michael Lee “Mike” Hogan, 56, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. He was born March 21, 1958, in Shelbyville, the son of Marion J. and Joan (Kocher) Hogan. He married Denise R. Gordon on July 4, 1987, and she survives. Other survivors include his mother of Shelbyville; brother, David Hogan and wife, Trudy, of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law, Wayne Haggard of Fairland and Ray Arnold of Shelbyville; nieces, Jacqueline Hogan, Marie Diane Moscrip, Heather Graham and Allyssa King; nephews, Kyle Hogan and Brian Hogan; great-nephew, Paul Moscrip and great-niece, Keara Garrison. He was preceded in death by his father; and sisters, Donna Hogan and Faye Haggard. Mike graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1977. He was a member of Town and Country Christian Church. Mike formerly worked as a pressman for the Shelbyville News and Horizon Printing Company, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed fishing, painting and reading. Watching the Indianapolis Colts was one of his favorite pastimes. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Ian Farnsley officiating. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
