Michael Summitt

Michael S. "Mike" Summitt, 59, Shelbyville, and former Indianapolis resident, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Born March 22, 1950 in Indianapolis he was the son of James A. and Laura (Frye) Summitt. He married Donna J. Wright, and she survives. Other survivors include his children, Michael J. (Valerie) Summitt, Dyanna (husband,John)Spears both of Indianapolis, James A.(Valarie) Summitt of Monrovia, Jessica and LindaAnn Summitt, both of Shelbyville: brothers James Dale Summitt and Richard Summitt, both of Indianapolis, and Ron Summitt of Sherman Tx:, sisters Emma Tollifon and Alberta Vittitoe. both of Sherman Tx, Carol Kieninger of Indianapolis: grandchildren, Michael J. Summitt II and Megan R. Summitt, great-grandchildren, Wyatt S. Caudill and Leahla Fewell; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Asheley Hinz. Mr. Summitt had lived in Shelbyville for the past 9 years. He was an over the road truck driver. Mr. Summitt served in the U.S. Army. He was a biker, retired from Jazzy Brothers, and a current member of U.C.B. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Barbara Dempsey officiating. Interment will be in Chambersville Cemetery in Chambersville.
