Micki Lynn Chambers, 57, of Waldron, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Major Hospital.
Born Aug. 28, 1948, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Howard and Virginia (Pike) Chambers Jr.
Survivors include one son, James R. Chambers of Waldron; two foster sons, Aaron Pike Jr. and David Allen Pike, both of Shelbyville; two brothers, Ronald Chambers of Danville, Ill., and James Robert Chambers of Greenfield; one grandson, David Wayne Pike; one great-grandson, Gage Pike; and three special friends, Karen Wadley, Greg Napier and Anna Riggins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ms. Chambers was a secretary with the Indiana State Department of Health from 1986 to 1998; a computer operator with David R. Webb, in Edinburgh, from 1978 to 1986; and employed at Freudenberg NOK-IPC from 1971 to 1978. She had been a life guard at Porter Pool during the mid 1960s.
She was a foster parent in Shelby County.
Ms. Chambers graduated in 1966 from Shelbyville High School, where she was a member of the Sunshine Society, Squibb, Girls Athletic Association and booster club.
She was a member and Chairman of Names Memorial Quilt, in Indianapolis, and a former member of Order of Eastern Star.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
