Mildred L. Miller-Riggins

Mildred L. Miller-Riggins, 77 of Morristown passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Major Hospital. Born August 7, 1932 in Churdan, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harry and Sarah (White) Cole. She married Joed Miller on September 9, 1954 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1996. She then married Emanuel "Manny" Riggins and he preceded her in death in January 2006. She is survived by her sons, Harry Edgar (Lori Alsop) Miller of Frankfort and Joey Alan (wife, Conni) Miller of Burleson, Texas; sisters, Robert Veliquette of Lemon Grove, California and Sharon (husband, Michael) O'Neill of Fairfield, Iowa; and grandchildren, James L. Miller, Sarah E. Miller, Neana N. Willis and Brittney M.C. Miller. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Sylvia Allred and Bernice Rockhill. Mrs. Riggins was retired from Bell Telephone and AT&T as an operator, and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2010 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., B-4, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260 or American Diabetes Association.
