Miriam J. Bailey

Miriam J. Bailey, 76, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008 at her residence. She was surrounded by love from her devoted daughters and dedicated caregivers. She will be greatly missed. Born January 20, 1932 in Vermilion County, Indiana to Howard Myers and Helen B. (Myers) Phipps. She married Harvey E. Bailey on July 11, 1958, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2008. Survivors include daughters, Sherry M. (husband, David) Meyer of Shelbyville, Deborah Turner of Lebanon, Donna F. (husband, Terry) Hudson of Fountaintown and Ava Lorraine "Lorri" Grimes of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeffery Paul Turner on August 7, 2007, one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Bailey was a mother and housewife who loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, animals, boating and being on the water. She had been a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St., Morristown, Indiana. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
