Mona Gayle Miller

Mona Gayle Miller, 81, of Crown Point, formerly of Morristown, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born June 1, 1935, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of James Max and Anna Olive (Millis) Miller. Mona is survived by her sister-in-law, Phyllis Miller of Morristown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Erma Miller; and brothers, William Miller, James Miller and Robert Miller. Mona graduated from Morristown High School in 1953 and Indiana University in 1957. She retired from Merrillville Junior and Senior High School, where she was the physical education teacher, with 40 years of service. Mona enjoyed reading and knitting. Private family graveside services will be observed. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
