Mona Harris

December 31, 1921 — February 14, 2016

Mona Arnett Harris of Shelbyville, Indiana passed away on February 14th, 2016, at the age of 94. She was an adoring wife, mother, and grandmother. Mona and her husband Bob were lifelong residents of Shelbyville where they enjoyed raising their family. Mona and her husband enjoyed being members of many car clubs. In addition to tending to her mandevillas, Mona enjoyed crocheting beautiful afghans and spending time with her dear friends. However, there was nothing that made her smile more than hosting family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. Mona is survived by her daughter, Debbie Alexander (Steve); twin sons, Kim Harris (Devon), and Kevin Harris; seven grandchildren, Jeff Alexander (Shelly), Kati Averitt (Nick), Julie Harris, Cory Harris, Nick Harris, Sara Harris, and Holly Harris; one great-grandchild, Jack Averitt. Her husband, Robert Harris, preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 11 am to noon Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.freemanfamilyfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
