Myra E. Woodmansee

Myra E. Woodmansee, 89, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, in Indianapolis. Born June 20, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward and Emma G. (Trochelman) Gerbig. She married Paul G. Woodmansee on Dec. 24, 1943, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1968. Survivors include one daughter, Ann (husband, Tom) Schulz of Indianapolis; and two granddaughters, Jessica (husband, Brad) Reynolds of Chicago, Ill., and Sally Schulz of Indianapolis. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ouijie Perkins and Charlotte Gerbig; and one brother, Paul Gerbig. Mrs. Woodmansee had been a secretary in the personnel department at KCL Corp., retiring in 1982. Prior to that she was employed with F.W. Dodge Corp. in Chicago and the American Red Cross at Camp Atterbury and in Shelbyville. She had served on the Shelby County Welfare Board and Gordon's Children Home Board. Mrs. Woodmansee was a member of the Christian Science Church, Woman's Club, Friends of the Library and Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Shelbyville-Shelby County Public Library, 57 W. Broadway St., Shelbyville, IN 46176; or the donor's favorite charity.
