Nancy A. Allen

Nancy A. Allen, 67, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born October 26, 1947, in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of Earl M. and jewell M. (Bowlin) Lair. On November 2, 1967, she married her husband of 47 years, Clay L. Allen, and he survives. Nancy is also survived by her sons, Ashley C. Allen and wife, Heidi, and David L. Allen, both of Indianapolis, and Wesley S. Allen of Hazard, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Jewell Allen, Sarah Allen and Lesley Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Baker; and two brothers, Kay Lair and Robert Lair. Nancy graduated from Wayne County High School in Monticello in the Class of 1965. She was a homemaker. Nancy was a Southern Baptist. A gathering of friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. A memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
