Nancy Alice Isley

Nancy Alice Isley passed away November 20, 2010 at the age of 73. She was born June 13, 1937, in Boggstown, Indiana to C. H. Archie Fraker and Dorothy Virginia Baldwin Fraker. Nancy married Delbert Lewis Isley in Boggstown, Indiana on September 16, 1956. She was an office manager at Coca Cola Bottling Co. in Shelbyville, Indiana for 30 years. Nancy and Delbert moved to Corpus Christi in October, 2004. Nancy was a member of First Christian Church, a member of and past president of CWF, served on the ministry council, pastoral care committee, funeral luncheon committee and communion preparation committee. She volunteered in the church office and participated as a shepherd in the annual Boar?s Head pageant. Nancy never met anyone whom she thought shouldn?t admire her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always willing to admire others? grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She hated snow and cold weather but was always willing to play in the snow with her grandchildren. Nancy liked to walk along Corpus Christi Bay and Gulf of Mexico looking for sand dollars and wading with her grandchildren. She participated in annual beach clean-ups at National Seashore and got up early to watch Kemp-Ridley turtle releases. Nancy enjoyed knitting, sewing, and reading;and made afghans for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a jigsaw puzzle going and was an avid Coca-Cola collector. Nancy loved traveling and had been to every state but Hawaii. She loved white water rafting. She loved going to open houses in the high-rent district, just to look, no intent to buy. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, C. H. Archie Fraker and Dorothy Virginia Baldwin Fraker; and her sister, Virginia Ruth Fraker Stanton. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Delbert Lewis Isley; children: Brenda (Bob) Wilson, Bridgett Isley (deceased) and Brian Isley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jesse White) Wilson, Kristin (Adam) VanDuyne, Megan Wilson, Katherine, Daniel and Danica Isley; and great-grandchildren, Abigail and Eleanor VanDuyne. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Evangelical United Church of Christ, 2360 S. Miller St., in Shelbyville with Rev. Linda Frische-Mouri officiating. Private burial will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Noble Township, Indiana. Local arrangements were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S.
