Naomi R. Stroup

Naomi R. Stroup, 85, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Waldron Health Care Home in Waldron. Born September 1, 1922, in Bartholonew County, she was the daughter of Everett T. and Ruth (Trembly) Frazee. She married Louis Daniels in 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1964. She married Ralph Talbert in 1965, and he preceded her in death in 1974. She married Millard Stroup on November 24, 1976, and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1994. Survivors include her sons, Donald D. (wife, Ellen) Daniels of Shelbyville and Darrel D. (wife, Nikki) Daniels of Wenona, Illinois; and brother, Roy F. Frazee of Charlotte, N.C. and Ray D. Grazee of Shelbyville. She also was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Stroup was a lifelong Shelby County resident. She had been a secretary and volunteer at Community Hospital Outreach Office, retiring in 1977. Prior to that she worked for a local attorney and was an executive secretary for five years to the general manager at General Electric. Mrs. Stroup was a member of Little Blue River Baptist Church and later attended Beacon Baptist Church. No visitation will be observed. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Forest Hill Cemetery, with Chaplain Kevin Holley, with Covenant Hospice, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 1029 South 14th Street, New Castle, Indiana 47362. Services were entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.
