Niki Lynn Best

Niki Lynn Best, 64, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at her residence. She was born August 4, 1951, in Lafayette, the daughter of Kenneth and Doris (Bassett) Bowman. Niki is survived by her mother of Shelby County; father and step-mother, Dorothy, of Greenwood; sisters, Shannon Wright and husband, William, of Shelbyville, and Carol Campbell of Indianapolis; two step-brothers; one step-sister; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her best friend, Paul Best. Niki graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969, and received her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. She retired from AT&T, with 20 years of service. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue in Shelbyville. Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
