Nina E. O'Neal, 76, of Fountaintown passed away Monday, November 3, 2008, at Major Hospital.
Born June 22, 1932, in Lafayette, Tenn., she was the daughter of James and Betty Catherine (Jones) Day. She married Ray Dean O'Neal on May 17, 1952, and he survives.
Other survivors include her son, Ray A. (wife, Kathy) O'Neal of West Palm Beach, Florida; daughters, Peggy L. Hicks and Connie (husband, Todd) Larkey, both of Fairland; sister, Evelyn Webb of Louisville, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Riley O'Neal of West Palm Beach, Brittany (husband, Jeremy) Miller of Washington, Illinois, Bradley Hicks of Indianapolis, Melissa Hicks, Lindsay Larkey and Kelsey Larkey, all of Fairland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raybell Day and Rheupell Day; and sister, Inez Pitcock.
Mrs. O'Neal had been employed at Lane Bryant but was a homemaker for most of her life.
She attended high school in Lafayette, Tennessee.
Mrs. O'Neal was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
She loved her family, church friends and serving the Lord.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 s. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Elder Doug Skinner officiating.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery in Fairland.
