Nona F. Paul, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at Waldron Health and Rehab.
She was born June 21, 1924, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Charles and Nettie (Cobler) Helms.
Survivors include her children, Ricky Paul and wife, Libby, and Tamra Jones and husband, Larry, both of Shelbyville, Dennis Paul and wife, Sun, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Scott Paul and wife, Sandi, Richard Paul and wife, Mandy, and Dana Paul and wife, Nancy and Joni Steinemer, and husband, Kenny, all of Orlando, Florida; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and long-time companion, Win West of Shelbyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lewis Helms, sisters, Garnet Scudder, Delores Scudder, Marie Shepherdson and Wiletta Vise; grandson, Eric Lee Paul; and great-grandson, Collin Richard Paul.
Nona retired from Continental Kitchen in the mid 1980’s, she had also worked as a bartender at Ikie’s, Kettler’s, Fat Albert’s and the VFW.
She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary.
Nona enjoyed traveling, cooking and working crossword puzzles and word searches.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at the funeral home, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
