Norma Jean Meal, 65, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Major Hospital.
Born May 17, 1940, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Leslie and Dorothy (Goff) Tennell.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth R. "Kenny" Meal of Shelbyville; two sisters, Doris Kendall and Rose Hellmich, both of Greensburg; four brothers, Harold Tennell and William Tennell, both of Bengal, and Maurice Tennell and Ronnie Tennell, both of Flat Rock; two grandsons, Kris Meal and Kenny Meal II; and three great-grandchildren, Khayden Meal, Brooklynn Eldridge and Kennedy Eldridge.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter; one brother, Cecil C. Tennell Jr.; and one sister, Betty Runshe.
Ms. Meal had been employed at Knauf Fiberglass from 1971 until retiring in 1998. Prior to that she was employed with the former Chambers Aircraft from 1967 to 1971.
She graduated in 1959 from Southwestern High School and attended beauty school.
Ms. Meal was a member of Bengal Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. James Clifton and Jim Stephens officiating.
Interment will be in Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in Shelby County.
