Norma “Joan” Wagner, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.
She was born April 7, 1929, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Cecil and Opal (Limpus) Snyder. On March 20, 1948, she married her husband of 69 years, Loren Wagner, and he survives.
Joan is also survived by her daughter, Angela Smith of Shelbyville; son, Jeffrey Wagner of Shelbyville; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith, Mandy Jo Smith and Jessica Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Dale Wayne Snyder.
Joan graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1947.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Joan formerly worked at the J.G. DePrez Department Store, and later substitute taught at Loper Elementary.
She loved to play bingo at the American Legion, Eagles Lodge and Knights of Columbus. Joan also enjoyed going to the casino and Las Vegas.
Joan and Loren attended many dances, as they were excellent dancers.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crypt and jumble puzzles.
Joan was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
