Norma L. Ross

Norma L. Ross, 81, of Morristown died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Ellison House in Greenfield. Born January 30, 1929, she was the daughter of John and Nina (Moore) McClintock. She married Joseph K. Ross on March 19, 1949, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 1998. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Ross of Maryland and Becci (husband, Mike) Despain of Pendelton; sons, Keith (wife, Donieta) Ross of Greenfield and Bryon (wife, Lisa) Ross of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Meador. Mrs. Ross had lived in Shelby County for most of her life. She had been employed by Dr. Jean and later at the Morristown Nursing Home, retiring in 1993. Mrs. Ross graduated from Morristown High School in 1949. She was a member of Gwynneville Christian Church, where she was actively involved in church activities, expecially coordinating food for a food pantry in Shelbyville. Mrs. Ross enjoyed painting landscapes, bowling, playing cards and animals. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown. Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Regional Hospice, 1560 B State St., Greenfield, IN 46140; or Gwynneville Christian Church, Post Office Box 265, Morristown, Indiana 46161.
