Norma Lou Swinehart, 74, of Shelbyville, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Waldron Health Care Home, in Waldron.
Born Nov. 14, 1931, in Barry County, Mo., she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Viola Blanche (Aulbrey) Garrison. She married Charles E. ?Chuck? Swinehart on Oct. 14, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1997.
Survivors include one son, Tony L. (wife, Freda) Swinehart of Morristown; one daughter, Tina L. (husband, Cliff) Rasdall of Shelbyville; two brothers, Austin Garrison and John Wesley Garrison, both of Missouri; four sisters, Edna Lukon, Mabel Whitney, Louise Massey and Sharon Brown, all of Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ben Swinehart, Sydney Rasdall and Colin Rasdall, all of Shelbyville, Rachel Perry of Carthage, Mindy Swinehart, Amber Swinehart, Allison Swinehart and John Swinehart, all of Morristown; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Swinehart, and seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Swinehart retired from Cathy?s Little Friends Day Care in 1996. She previously was a cashier for several years at the former Haag Drug Store, Louden Grocery, Scott Lad Foods, Mickey's T-Mart and JG DePrez.
She graduated in 1949 from Fairview High School, in Missouri.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
