Norman Edward "Norm" Roberts

Norman Edward “Norm” Roberts, 62, of Avon, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 22, 1953, in Rochester, New York, the son of Edward and Grace (Lamoreaux) Roberts. He married Diana Dawson on March 16, 1991, and she survives. Norm is also survived by his son, Devin Roberts of Avon; daughters, Alice Gallagher and husband, Joseph, of Indianapolis, Laura Harp and husband, Michael, of Greensburg and Emily Wilson; sister, Debbie Butler and husband, John, of Rochester; grandchildren, Rachel, Nick, Tim, Dan, Steve, Leah, Felix, Melanie and A.J.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Norm graduated from Athena High School in Rochester in 1971. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in 1975, and his master’s degree from Spaulding University in Louisville in 1978. He was a human resources manager, retiring in 2013. Norm enjoyed woodworking and fast cars and motorcycles. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Manilla Cemetery, 2228 South County Road 715 West, Manilla, with Pastor Theron St. John officiating.
