O. Frances Monroe

Ora Frances Monroe, 87, of Indianapolis, formerly of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Franklin. Born April 13, 1923 in Versailes, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Elva R. (Alford) Baker. She married Paul Edwin Monroe on September 29, 1943, and he preceded her in death in April of 1986. Survivors include her brother-in-law James Litson of Franklin and several nieces and nephews including Sandra Brown and Robert Litson. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Litson, Jaunita (Baker) Gehlhausen and Billie M. Baker; brothers, Joseph E. Baker and Robert H. Baker; and nephew, Paul R. Gehlhausen, whom she raised from a youngster. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Services will be announced by Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelby County Mental Health Association.
