Okeema Jane Taylor Lee

January 15, 1967 — February 17, 2014

Okeema Jane Taylor Lee, 47, of Maineville, Ohio, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. She was born January 15, 1967, in Franklin, the daughter of William and Barbara (Williams) Taylor. She married Christopher “Chris” Lee on November 10, 2001, and he survives. Other survivors include her children, Joshua Heise of Martinsville, Christina Heise of Shelbyville, Lindsey Heise of Indianapolis and William Heise of Hartford City; sisters, Cozetta Elliott and husband, Steve, of Greenwood, Deborah Hensley and husband, Don, of Whiteland and Rona Rogers and husband, Mike, of Waldron; brother, Doug Taylor and wife, Diane; mother-in-law, Donna Roberts and husband, Tony, of Lizton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William “J.R.” Taylor. Okeema was a homemaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Okeema enjoyed cooking and shopping. She was an avid motorcycle rider. Okeema raised yorkies, and leaves behind Tigger, Lily and Lacy. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the funeral home, with Pastor John Lily officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Riders Post No. 64, 601 S. Holt Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46241.
