Oris E. Moberly

Oris E. Moberly, 91, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007, at his home. Born September 28, 1916, in Shelbyville he was the son of Dewey Otis and Mamie Alice (McDonald) Moore. He married Dorothy L. Bennett on December 9, 1939, and she preceded in death on July 14, 2005. Survivors include his son, Larry E. (wife, Mary Jeanne) Moberly of Cape Coral, Florida; sister, Louise (husband, Henry) Spurling of Waldron; brother, Richard (wife, Wilma) Kendall of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Katherine (Bennett) Zell of Shelbyville; and many nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arnold McDonald. Mr. Moberly retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1976. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
