Otis M. Alexander

Otis M. Alexander, 92, of Fairland passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008, at his home. Born December 1, 1915, in Shelby County, he was the son of Solomon Clell Alexander and Cecil Perry Alexander. He married Josephine L. Borden on November 27, 1939, and she survives. Other survivors include sons, Bob (wife, Mary) Alexander of Fairland, Jim (wife, Janette) Alexander of Shelbyville and Maurice (wife, Deborah) Alexander of Fairland; daughter, Becky Treon of Fairland; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Alexander and Teddy Ray Alexander; infant daughter, Beverly Jo Alexander; a great-grandchild; and brother, Orville Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a farmer and was a lifelong resident of Shelby County. He was a 1935 graduate of Fairland High School. Visition will be from 4 to 8 pm Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Mohr officiating. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Triton Central Elementary School library fund in memory of Otis M. Alexander, 4774 W. 600 N., Fairland, IN 46216
