Pansy M. Pyle, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
She was born July 24, 1925, in Franklin, the daughter of Jesse and Mary Margaret (Pearcy) McMurray. On November 20, 1945, she married Charles A. “Jack” Pyle, and he preceded her in death.
Pansy is survived by her daughters, Pamela Williams and husband, Dennis, of Ratliff City, Oklahoma, Elaine Stickle and Kathy Pyle, both of Shelbyville; son, Keith Pyle of Shelbyville; sister, Ruth Berry and husband, George, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Delisa Williams, Thersa Williams, Stacy Farley and husband, Jason, and Bradley Pyle and wife, Tonii; great-grandchildren, Katie Burton, Brendan Stickle, Alexis “Lexi” Farley, Avery Farley, Lillianna Pyle and baby girl Pyle on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to Jack, Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Carter; brothers, Earl McMurray, Alvin McMurray and Donald McMurray; and grandson, Jesse A. Stickle.
Pansy was a lifetime member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She worked at Camp Atterbury during World War II, and from 1970 to 1987 she was a nurse’s aide at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
Pansy enjoyed playing Skip-bo and Bingo. She also enjoyed sewing.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
