Patricia J. Steffey

Patricia J. Steffey, 76, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Ashford Place Health Campus. Born March 21, 1929, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Florence Isabel (Roberts) Russell. She married Russell L. Steffey on Nov. 3, 1948, and he survives. Other survivors include two sons, Kevin (wife, Ria) Steffey of Urbana, Ill., and Neil (wife, Jacque) Steffey of Seattle, Wash.; three daughters, Rhonda (husband, Darrell) Dippon of St. Paul, Minn., Jama (husband, David) Schmitt and Dana (husband, Alan) Joiner, both of Shelbyville; two sisters, Sally Creed of Greenwood and Sharon Rodgers of Florida; one brother, Jerry Russell of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren, Joshua Steffey, Dawn Gertz, Justin Schmitt, Tricia Schmitt, Carly Oldham, Zachary Steffey, Blake Joiner, Derek Dippon, Rachel Zinter, Jordan Schmitt, Megan Oldham, Dane Oldham and Adam Joiner; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Steffey lived most of her life in Shelbyville. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Peoples State Bank in the late 1940s. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Broadway Chapel, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
