Patricia J. West

Patricia J. West, 72, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Major Hospital. Born May 10, 1933, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Homer O. and Mae (Drake) Wertz Sr. She married Robert R. West, and he preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include one daughter, Cyndi (husband, Kevin) Favreau of Millersville, Md.; one brother, Homer (wife, Pauline) Wertz Jr. of Shelbyville; two nephews; and one niece. Mrs. West was a lifelong Shelbyville resident. She owned and operated Wertz Apartments on Broadway St. She had formerly been employed with Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter and Pittsburgh Plate Glass. Mrs. West graduated in 1951 from Shelbyville High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 232 W. Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary W. Huffman officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
