Paul Allen Imel, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Greenwood Health and Living in Greenwood. He was born March 25, 1954, in Shelbyville, the son of Harold “Bud” and Elinora (Sosbe) Imel. Paul is survived by his mother of Fountaintown; long-time friend and the love of his life, Kay Goldsberry of Indianapolis; brother, Doug Imel and wife, Kristina of Tipp City, Ohio; and sister, Deena Elliott and husband, Tom, of Knightstown. He was preceded in death by his father. Paul graduated from Triton Central High School in 1972. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church. Paul was an electric sign fabricator and worked at Visual Sign Company for 30 years, after which he worked at Staley Signs for seven years. He was also a past member of the Indianapolis Westside RC Modelers and the Central Indiana Austin Healey Club. Paul enjoyed woodworking, radio controlled airplanes and classic cars. He was an avid guitarist and song writer. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9 2016 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the funeral home, with Matt Swisher officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to Smith Valley United Methodist Church, 5293 Old Smith Valley Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
