Paul Allen Yoder

Paul Allen Yoder, 53, of Anderson passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan. Born December 1, 1955, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Jesse LeRoy Yoder and Betty J. (Pendleton) Copple. He married Pamela Kay Wilkinson and she survives. Other survivors include his son, Stephen R. Drake II of Camby; stepbrother, Larry McGuire of Greenfield; half brothers, Scott Copple, Todd Copple and Doug Copple; several brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Rosie (McGuire) Yoder. Mr. Yoder was a retired U.S. Army veteran E7/SFC, serving from 1973 to 1987 at Fort Knox, Ky.; Garlstedt, Germany; Fort Polk, La.; and in Anderson. He graduated from Shelbyville High School, where he was on the wrestling team. Mr. Yoder was a member of the National Rifle Association, American Legion and Anderson Gun Club. He enjoyed cars, racing, fishing and building models. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Chapel of Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roosevelt Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paul Allen Yoder Memorial Fund, 612 Country Club Lane, Anderson, IN 46011.
