Paul M. Watts, 92, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, at Morristown Manor, in Morristown.
Born Oct. 20, 1913, in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Florence (Brown) Watts. He married Ethel L. "Dude" (Smith) Wickens on Aug. 15, 1936, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1984.
Survivors include three grandchildren, J.B. Wickens of Powells Point, N.C., Paula Varmette and Jeffery Wickens, both of Chesapeake, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Jimmie Lea of Fort Knox, Ky., Heather Ausley, Daniel Wickens and Brian J. Wickens, all of Chesapeake, Matthew J. Wickens and Nicole Wickens, both of Powells Point; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Albert Wickens, and one sister, Clyda Watts.
Mr. Watts had been employed with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the tag department for 10 years, retiring in 1983. Prior to that he owned the former Watt?s Tavern.
No visitation will be observed.
A funeral service and committal will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, Freeman Family Funeral Homes, 819 S. Harrison St.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
