Paul Ray "Pete" Jarvis, 57, of Waldron, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
Born April 13, 1949, in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Paul O. and Hazel T. Jarvis.
Survivors include one twin sister, Paula (husband, Michael) Cochran of Shelbyville, two sisters, Carolyn (husband, Steve) Wagner of Waldron, and Jenny (husband, Richard) Ray of Beech Grove, and two brothers Mickey (wife, Cathi) Gaines and Clifford (wife, Ruthie) Gaines, both of Shelbyville.
He was employed at Wal-Mart in the electronics department in Shelbyville and Tampa, Fla. for the last four years. He was previously employed at Merlins Books for 15 years.
Mr. Jarvis was a 1968 graduate of Shelbyville High School.
He was a member of the Shelbyville Boys Club. He also promoted concerts at Morrison Park. As creator of the original corn stalks, he helped organize the 35th anniversary.
A gathering of friends will take place 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
A celebration of life will take place from 1 p.m. to dusk, on Saturday, June 17, at the home of Steve and Carol Wagner, 993 N. 400S.
