Paul V. Tucker, 88, of Shelbyville, died Saturday, Dec. 31.
Born Feb. 27, 1917, in Hendricks Township, he was the son of the late Rulluff "Pete" and Audrey (Stevens) Tucker. He married Marjorie E. DeBaun on Feb. 6, 1943, in Lincoln, Neb., and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Tony A. Tucker of Shelbyville; one brother, Dale W. Tucker of Prescott; one sister, Patricia Ann "Patty" Bolin of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Brian D. Tucker; three sisters, Justine Hamner, Irma Wheeler and Thelma Bausbach; and two brothers, Beryl Tucker and Frank S. Tucker.
Mr. Tucker was a lifelong Shelby County resident.
He was employed at the former Chambers Aircraft for 26 years, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Tucker was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving as a staff sergeant during World War II.
He was a member of West Side Wesleyan Church, Moose Lodge No. 2118, Eagles Lodge No. 766, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post No. 70.
No visitation will be observed.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
