Pauline Alberta Funkhouser, 87, of Fairland died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Indianapolis.
Born Feb. 20, 1922, in Mount Carmel, Ill., she was the daughter of Albert Taylor and Cora Helen (Viehe) Wesner. She married Frank L. Funkhouser on Feb. 21, 1958, in Beech Grove, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1991.
Survivors include her sons, Morris Alan (wife, Sandra) Proctor of New River, Ariz., and Ronald Taylor Proctor of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Sheryl (husband, Mitchell) Glassburn of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Frances Blackwell of Beech Grove, matriarch of the Wesner family; son-in-law, Gary Wilson of Greenfield; grandchildren, Ronald Taylor Proctor, Coral Ann Proctor, Mark Alan Proctor, Sean Hamm, Nedra Hamm-Nardi, Matthew Hamm, Brandon Proctor, Crystal Proctor, Michel Franklin Wilson, Jason William Wilson, Cathy Harris, Michael Dewayne Wilson, Stacy Renee Imel, Elizabeth Helen Glassburn and Samuel Taylor Glassburn; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Darlene Wilson; brothers, Robert Wesner and Richard Wesner; sisters, Mildred McElfresh and Mary Ellen Brown; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Funkhouser had resided in Shelby County since 1967.
She had been an electronic assembler for Wavet K. Indiana in Beech Grove, retiring in 1988.
Mrs. Funkhouser was a member of First Christian Church, Christian Women?s Fellowship and American Legion Post No. 128 Ladies Auxiliary in Anthem, Ariz.
A gathering of friends will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with pastors Rick Cochran and Evie Stuard officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
