Pauline Matney Waggoner, 61 of Gwynneville, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in Arlington of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born September 16, 1948 in Grundy, Virginia, she was the daughter of Henry James and Sarah "Pricey" (Horn) Matney. She married Donald Lee Waggoner on July 16, 1967, and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother of Morristown; daughter, Charity (husband, Barry) Bright of Greenfield; son, Thomas Jason (wife, Dana) Waggoner of Gwynneville; grandchildren, Ben Bright, Ashley Bright, Cody Waggoner, Daniel Bright, Adam Bright, Noah Waggoner and Emma Waggoner; brothers, James Henry "Junior" Matney, Jr. and David (wife, Kathy) Matney, both of Arlington; Jerry "JW" Matney of Shelbyville and Virgil (wife, Sherry) Matney of Carthage; sister, Martha (husband, Steve) Clabough of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Jackie Matney; and sister, Judy Faye Matney.
Mrs. Waggoner had resided in Gwynneville for 28 years.
She was the manager of the Shelbyville Goodwill store, where he co-workers were her second family.
Mrs. Waggoner graduated from Morristown High School in 1967.
She loved her grandbabies and enjoyed playing bingo.
Mrs. Waggoner was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and attended Gwynneville Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Clay officiating.
Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
